The Waiting Game!

Another day and yes still pregnant. Who knows this child may be born right on its due date like Colton. Every day I wake up and keep waiting for something to happen, but still nothing. Saturday I thought maybe I needed to do some gardening so Colton and I got on our gloves and headed out to pick weeds. Sunday I was still feeling good so after Steven got home from work we headed out for a walk. Monday here I am and still big and pregnant. My mom and I have decided that this baby has heard how loud family get togethers are and this child has decided it is happier in its cramped space than out with the wild crew. I think this one is going to have to be convinced to come out. Hopefully in five days it will be here. :)

Colton's Fire truck cake

Saturday was a very special day. Our little boy turned 3. I can't believe how fast time flies. We started the day off with Colton's favorite breakfast, biscuits and gravy. Then mom worked on his cake with a little help from both Colton and Steven we were able to make a fire truck cake. That was stressful. Next we rode up to Alamosa for some food and playing at Mcdonald's. That night we had a little party for our birthday boy. Nana, Papa, Grandma Johnson, and Cary were all there to wish Colton a Happy Birthday. Boy did he have a great time. He got so many great gifts. Thanks everyone. One toy Colton got was a gun set. That night after the party we had to get them out and have a couple of gun fights before we could get any sleep. Then Sunday we were able to fly his kite he got and now every morning he gets up eats breakfast and then out comes the play dough to make all kinds of fun things.

We are so glad we have a wonderful little boy to liven up our lives. We love you, Colton.

Hard Days

This last weekend we decided we needed to head over to Pueblo and go to Home Depot. Colton's window is broken and we decided this spring we needed to replace it so next winter Colton and the new baby would be nice and warm. So we got over to Home Depot found what we were looking for and decided to do some extra shopping since we don't get to do this very often. We hit Kohl's and a couple other stores.

That night after we got home Steven and I were getting Colton ready for bed. I read him a book and then he decided he needed his dad for alittle bit. Steven went in and was laying with him trying to get him to crash. All of a sudden Colton set up in bed and said " Dad we had a hard day, we went everywhere." I guess for a little boy we did too much shopping. I will have to keep that in mind next time we get out of town. It's amazing how much he has grown up and all the things he says. We sure love him and are glad he was sent to us to keep us laughing.

Home Sweet Home!

Well it's been awhile since we last updated. Last week we took a trip to Utah for Mckenzie's blessing. We started out Thursday and made it to Delta to sleep in a hotel. Then Friday we finished the last leg of our trip up. Colton did so great in the car seat. Both Steven and I were worried about the long drive and how our little man would do but things turned out great. We were both thankful for the Dvd player that came in handy a couple of times. After a weekend of seeing family and doing some much needed shopping, since all we have is Wal-mart and JcPenny's, we headed home on Monday. We woke up bright and early (about 5:20 a.m.) and started home. We were all ready to get to our home. Like they say "It is always nice to go but great to get back." Monday we all went to bed early and Colton and I got to rest up on Tuesday. Poor Steven had to go to work at 6 a.m. and drive over to Pagosa Springs then on Wednesday he had to head over to Pueblo. I think he is sick of driving. But he did get Friday off so he will probably stay in bed all day to catch up on the z's.

Our Baby

Monday we were able to go to the Dr. and have an ultrasound. Here are some pictures of our baby. The first one is the baby with it's mouth wide open. I guess it is tired and yawning since it has such a hard life! Next is a picture of the hand, then the profile. All along Steven and I had been considering not finding out what we were having. We were actually able to be strong and didn't give in. So I guess we won't be finding out until our little baby is here.

Christmas Extras

Just some extra pictures of the Holidays. We make our yearly batch of christmas cookies. Colton was excited to help. He even rolled out some of the dough and then did his job of putting sprinkles on the bells. We had so much fun. Then we had a chance to go to our ward Christmas party. Santa even showed up and our "lil man" got to go up and set on his lap. What an experience.

Getting Ready for Christmas

Colton is so excited for Christmas. Everyday since Halloween Colton would wake up and ask if we could go and get a tree. Finally we gave in Saturday after Thanksgiving. We packed up everything from snow suits to gloves, boots, chili, and hot chocolate and headed up to the mountains. After looking for a while we found one that would be great in our house. Steven and Colton sawed down the tree and loaded it in the back of the truck. We ate our chili and hot chocolate and rushed home to put up the tree, but when we got back our little man was tuckered out and had to take a rest before he could procede with the tree. Finally we finished and here is the end result.
